This unique Edward S. Curtis collection, available for the first time in nearly one hundred years, is extraordinary in its breadth, beauty, and historical importance. This presentation collection was created specifically for one of Curtis’ most prominent representatives and has remained intact since the early 1900’s. The collection comprises thirty-one vintage photographs and related material. The twenty-nine photographs include a vintage platinum print of “The Vanishing Race”, signed by Edward Curtis, and twenty-eight portfolio size vintage Edward S. Curtis photogravures from The North American Indian (one signed by Curtis). It also contains state of the art reproductions of a Curtis self-portrait, and a photogravure portrait on tissue of Curtis by Curtis’ assistant, Adolf Muhr, signed in ink by Curtis. Additionally, the collection contains reproductions of various business and promotional documents, lectures and related ephemera.
