| Curtis noted that this image might as well be
titled “Life Primeval” for he believed that this
is how the Apache might have pictured themselves in the time
before significant European incursions. It was made at a point
on the Black River in Arizona, where a dark, still pool breaks
into the beauty of small rapids. |
